His encounter with current CSTO Momotsuka at the S-Booster competition (hosted by Japan’s Cabinet Office) sparked a strong partnership. In 2018, they achieved triple awards at the same competition, leading to the founding of Tenchijin. Leveraging his broad experience and extensive network, Yasuto now serves as CEO of Tenchijin Inc. With a background in both hardware and software—including agricultural IoT sensor development—he leads the business with a comprehensive technical and strategic perspective.

For over a decade, Takuto has been deeply involved in supporting startups and new business development. He has worked directly with early-stage teams, identifying exactly where and why progress stalls—and helping them push through.
In recent years, he has focused particularly on the Deep Tech domain, supporting researchers and universities whose promising technologies often fail to find a practical path forward. His work includes designing PoCs, preparing grant applications, and facilitating conversations with VCs—providing hands-on support at the earliest stages.
Takuto specializes in transforming undefined technological ideas into concrete, testable, and fundable hypotheses that gain organizational approval and lead to real-world implementation. As a kind of “translator” between the lab and the market, he plays a bridging role between research and reality.

Hi, I'm Summer! I’m from Malaysia, and even though my name means “summer,” I was actually born in winter. While studying business law at university, I found myself drawn into the world of entrepreneurship. Last year, I was honored to win the Audience Choice Award at a business contest in Aomori City, Japan. I’ve only been part of the Startup Weekend community for less than a year, so I’m still a beginner—but I believe that “you grow by doing,” and I’m taking one step at a time. I speak six languages including Cantonese and Hokkien, so feel free to ask me for help with interpreting in Kuala Lumpur! Most of all, I’m truly excited to see Startup Weekend happening here in my home country, and I can’t wait to meet and create with all of you!
Q: What language will the program be conducted in?
A: The main facilitation will be in Japanese. However, presentation slides will be in English, and teams are welcome to communicate in English as well.
Many participants will be coming from Japan, but most are comfortable using English to some extent during team collaboration.
We look forward to meeting passionate individuals eager to take on the challenge of launching a startup—right here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
